Setting the standard with the Housing First Model.

Housing First Model

Imagine if the housing industry didn’t just consider people residents or tenants, but valued individuals with vast and varied needs. That’s what we do.

By wrapping our housing services with healthcare and life services—and making them all one—we help individuals and families achieve successful living. We consider our organization a “Housing First” agency, meaning we start with housing, but then customize the living experience outwardly based around a person’s individual needs.

One example of this is Lilac Hills—165 units of affordable housing that we renovated in Kalamazoo. For this living community, we built open floor plan layouts, modern safety updates, upgraded outdoor green spaces, resurfaced the parking lot, and expanded the Community Center. Beyond the visible improvements, we’ve surrounded residents with our Housing First Model, supporting them by collaborating with local organizations to develop specific programs for groups of residents like school age children and expecting/new mothers.

This holistic integration isn’t as common as it should be. We’re working hard to change the standard—by setting it.
