Brain Injury Rehabilitation

Intensive post-acute medical rehabilitation in a community setting.

For those who have experienced a brain injury, we develop a custom plan and deliver highly-focused treatment with an emphasis on maximizing functional, real-world skills.

We understand the complexity of the physical, cognitive, and behavior challenges that can result from an injury. That’s why we surround the patient with a whole team that’s dedicated to their comeback.

We treat a range of conditions.

Brain injuries come in all shapes and sizes. Scroll to see the range of conditions we treat.

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) results from an external physical impact to the head, resulting in an alteration in brain function. Rehabilitation therapy can include a variety of services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy, but it may also require psychological intervention to address mood and behavioral components often present after a brain injury.

Acquired brain injury (ABI) describes any brain injury which occurs after birth and is not hereditary, congenital, or degenerative. Some examples of ABIs include tumors, stroke, carbon monoxide poisoning, and seizure disorders.

After experiencing a concussion, some individuals have difficulty managing routine activities at school, work, or home. Our comprehensive post-concussion program provides evaluation and treatment for patients experiencing cognitive, emotional, and/or physical challenges following a concussion.

Clinical services available with concussion experts:

  • Physiatry or psychiatry consultation
  • Psychology, neuropsychological evaluation
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech and language pathology
  • Vocational intervention

By using evidence-based practices, our significant expertise, and aggressive intervention, you can count on us to reduce the negative effects of stroke.

Our therapists are experts in using techniques that target common stroke symptoms such as neuromuscular re-education, cognitive retraining, visual-perceptual retraining, articulation, and swallowing programs.

Patients discharging from acute care following a COVID-19 illness may need additional specialized rehabilitative care to regain their strength, endurance, and cognitive function.

Post-COVID Rehabilitation services are provided in both a community-based residential setting or through an outpatient Day Rehab environment.

Patients often come to Hope Network once they are medically stable and able to leave the hospital. In other instances, we see people months or even years after their injury.

Our goal is to get you on the road to independence as quickly as possible so that you can resume the important roles you play at work, with family, and in the community – whatever makes life meaningful. Services are provided within an inpatient transitional setting, or in a Day Rehab program. Other services are available to support those with long-term needs.
